    Company:  New Century Software is a leader in developing data management and integrity management solutions for the oil and gas pipeline industry through the development of desktop, web and mobile applications as well as with consulting services.

    Position:  This position is responsible for maintaining accurate general ledger activity related to prepaid items, fixed assets, credit cards, payroll, general ledger and other transactions.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide month-end general ledger transaction support through journal entry preparation and account analyses
    • Complete reconciliations of bank accounts, assigned balance sheet accounts, fixed asset ledger, and other sub-ledgers per established schedule for both US and Canadian entities
    • Analyze expenses against budget and forecast to explain variances
    • Audit, input, and reconcile employee credit card activity on an ongoing basis
    • Process biweekly payroll with third-party vendor; submit and review all payroll changes, new hires and terminations
    • Audit invoices from benefits providers; follow through on correction of all adjustments
    • Provide regulatory support for payroll requests
    • Maintain employee payroll and benefits files
    • Oversee internal purchase order maintenance
    • Process incoming cash receipts for non-AR transactions
    • Assist with preparation of financial reports through supporting documents as needed
    • Maintain fixed asset registers
    • Manage records for IT licenses and software support
    • Prepare property and personal tax reporting as required
    • Assist with sales and use tax reporting as required
    • Perform other tasks as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in accounting and minimum of 3 years related accounting experience
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Payroll accounting experience preferred
    • Familiarity with third-party contracts and purchase orders
    • High level of ethics and values in all actions
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated with a high degree of self-accountability
    • Ability to apply accounting and business knowledge and logic in resolution of financial problems
    • Understanding of accounting policies and procedures including internal control procedures
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL a plus
