New Century Software is a leader in developing data management and integrity management solutions for the oil and gas pipeline industry. These pipelines transport natural gas and hazardous liquid petroleum products throughout the US and the world. The company develops desktop, web, and mobile applications that help pipeline operators manage information about pipeline assets and ensure safe operation. The company supports these implementations and applications with professional services that include pipeline risk analysis, data conversion, data migration, and consulting.


The position of Transportation GIS Analyst reports to Ron Brush, President. Responsibilities are presented in order of priority a­­­nd include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Independently conduct advanced spatial analyses using ArcGIS or other software
  • Develop spatial analysis models using ModelBuilder, Python, or other SQL and GIS scripting languages
  • Develop geodatabase schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals
  • Participate in project marketing, budget development, and resource scheduling
  • Mentor other GIS professionals as needed, with opportunity to develop into a leadership role
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in a GIS-related technical field, engineering, or computer science is required
  • 5+ years of practical GIS experience; an advanced degree in a relevant field may substitute for 4 years of experience
  • Proficient in use of ArcGIS and ArcGIS extensions (Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Geometric Networks, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of, and experience with, advanced linear referencing concepts and data modeling, including multi-level linear referencing
  • Considerable experience with use and implementation of the ESRI product suite, with emphasis on the implementation of transportation-industry applications built on the ESRI Roads and Highways product extension and its related data model.
  • Knowledge of Internet as well as SQL and ETL experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • An attitude and commitment of being an active participant of our team-oriented culture is a must 


  • GISP, AICP, PE, or other professional certifications is a plus
  • 3+ years of implementation and deployment experience with LRS
  • 3+ years of experience with state DOT GIS transportation design/engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with the ESRI product suite
  • Familiarity with the following technologies:       SQL, ArcGIS, Python, Geodatabase, JSON, and PL/SQL
  • Familiarity with the ESRI Roads and Highways and JavaScript programming is a plus
